Frequently Asked Questions
For guidance on how much of what you will need, base it on whether you want to use only AIO diapers or also covers with insert diapers. What matters is how many changes you can do with a given set before it is necessary to wash the diapers.
If we assume that you will change the baby 8 times a day and want to wash every day, it is necessary to have a supply of diapers for 16 changes. That means that for comfortable full-time cloth diapering, you need diapers for 16 to 20 changes.
Example: you have 2 AIO diapers, 1 cover, and 3 prefold diapers. For how many changes is this set? 🙂
No. The diapers are made of a special material that allows moisture to pass into the deeper layers of the fabric. The outer covers, on the other hand, are made of a material that does not let moisture through, yet your child’s skin can still breathe.
For small newborns, a cloth diaper can be placed over a disposable diaper and under the clothing. This use follows the doctor’s recommendation.
For older infants, it is enough to stuff the cloth diaper with two insert diapers.
Wash the diapers at a maximum of 60 °C, do not use fabric softener, do not iron them, and do not dry them on a radiator. When washing in a washing machine, use a gentle program. By washing, the diaper improves its absorbency. For the first wash, wash the insert diapers separately from AIO diapers, covers, and other laundry. We do not recommend using liquid detergents, as they can clog the pores of the diaper. It is possible to add laundry disinfectant to the washing machine.
When washing with liquid detergents, soaps, etc., it may happen that you “impregnate” the diaper and thus reduce its absorbency. See the video:
In this case, you can restore the absorbency by washing it several times in a classic powder detergent for colored laundry.
Pri praní v pracích géloch, mydlách a pod. sa môže stať, že plienku “naimpregnujete” a potlačíte tak jej savosť. Pozri video:
V tomto prípade získate savosť späť viacnásobným vypraním v klasickom prášku na farebnú bielizeň.
You can store diapers without soaking, only cleaned of stool. Get a large, easy-to-clean (preferably plastic) laundry bin with a lid. You can add a few drops of scented oil to the bin. Once a week, wash the bin thoroughly.
With diapers, we try to at least roughly estimate what size babies they should fit, based on both our own experience and your feedback. Although all our AIO diapers have snaps for size adjustment, it may happen that you can start using the diapers earlier, or on the contrary, your baby may outgrow them sooner. Keep in mind that every baby is different, and the size range cannot be universally applied to all babies. So please consider the adjustable size ranges as only approximate.
You don’t need to worry at all; from my own experience, I can say that we didn’t have any problems during the summer. The diaper allows the skin to breathe, and on top of that, your baby will look adorable everywhere 🙂
We will be very happy to help you put together your own custom diaper set exactly according to your preferences and possibilities—that’s what we’re here for. Please write to us either in the chat at the bottom right, on Facebook, or by email at info@bobanek.com, and we’ll put it together with you.
We recommend washing the diaper a few times before first use. The diaper will reach its proper absorbency only after several washes.
If the diaper leaks, try adding an extra insert, check that the diaper is fastened correctly, and that it has been adjusted properly to your baby’s size. A correctly fastened diaper should fit snugly along the back and around the legs.
We also recommend using bodysuits one size larger, which don’t press the diaper as tightly, preventing moisture from escaping. These are cloth diapers, so they need to be changed more frequently than disposable diapers. They do not contain plastic, gels, or gel-forming substances, so it’s normal to change them more often—but don’t worry too much, the diapers are really absorbent.
The PUL material from which the diapers and covers are made is not plastic. It is a material that must be primarily breathable and can partially hold moisture. A baby’s skin needs to breathe to prevent rashes and irritation.
This means it can only hold a certain amount of liquid before it starts to leak. As the baby grows and urinates more, it is necessary to increase the absorbency of the diaper by adding an insert or prefold, so that moisture does not reach the PUL layer. Continuous pressure on the material also makes liquid penetration easier, so it is advisable to use larger bodysuits for the baby, so they don’t press unnecessarily on the fabric.
In case of leakage, it is important to distinguish whether it is a material defect (a flaw in the PUL layer) or simply that the material has released liquid over time.
There are really many differences, but the main one is in the cut. Our diapers are enlarged in length, at the waist, and around the legs—European babies are generally bigger. In addition, our Premium pocket diapers have a completely original cut that you won’t find anywhere else. We also have our own original designs created by our designers.
We are clearing out the old collection, and in the future, we will only have our own original designs, so there is no confusion about buying the same product elsewhere—it is not the same, the cut is fundamentally different. It is also important to note that the same pattern does not mean the same fabrics or the same diaper—the design is printed onto the fabric afterward, and each manufacturer uses slightly different materials, so patterns may repeat.
Furthermore, our diapers have safety certifications, are trusted by hundreds of satisfied mothers, and come with a 14-day return policy and a two-year warranty in case of defects, which I believe is a very important criterion.
