Prejudices and myths about cloth diapers
Don’t believe myths and prejudices! Form your own opinion!
Myth number 1: They are very labor-intensive
“Cloth diapers are very labor-intensive—I don’t want to create extra work for myself by washing, ironing, and folding them. I already have more than enough to deal with taking care of a baby.”
Do you also hear from people around you that cloth diapers are very labor-intensive and involve a huge amount of work that simply isn’t worth it? Well, this claim is one of the biggest myths! Nowadays, you can choose diapers that require minimal effort and are very similar to disposable ones in use. There’s no folding, boiling, or stuffing involved, and they dry overnight. And most importantly, you don’t have to keep running out with the trash or going shopping all the time. Don’t believe it? Try our AIO diapers.

Myth number 2: They are not eco-friendly
“Washing cloth diapers uses water, detergent, and electricity, so they are not eco-friendly.”
Compared to disposable diapers, the environmental footprint of cloth diapers is minimal. Their use produces no solid waste. Disposable diapers cannot be recycled, burn poorly, release harmful substances when incinerated, and can take up to 400 years to decompose. During the diapering period, one baby can use up to 5,000 disposable diapers.
Myth number 3: They delay a baby’s development
“A baby can’t move properly in a cloth diaper, so they will be delayed and won’t develop according to the charts.”
It is true that cloth diapers are bulkier than disposable ones, but for a baby, it’s just a matter of getting used to them. Within a few days, the baby adapts and has no problem at all. On the contrary, cloth diapers actually support proper hip development and are much healthier for the baby. We ourselves grew up in cloth diapers—are we delayed or somehow handicapped because of it?

Myth number 4: They are uncomfortable for the baby
“They are uncomfortable for the baby and pinch everywhere.”
On the contrary, cloth diapers are much more comfortable for the baby. They contain no gel-forming or chemical substances, the baby doesn’t get as much diaper rash, boys don’t experience overheating of the scrotum, and overall, they are healthier for the baby.
Myth number 5: The baby stays wet
“The baby’s bottom is constantly wet, so they will surely keep crying and be uncomfortable.”
In our diapers, we use polyester as the inner layer. This is a functional material that wicks moisture into the other layers, so the baby’s bottom stays dry. The risk of diaper rash is much lower than with disposable diapers.

Myth number 6: They are unhygienic
“Cloth diapers are unhygienic; they have to be boiled to kill germs.”
Cloth diapers can be washed at 60 °C, which is sufficient to destroy microorganisms. Boiling diapers is no longer necessary—it’s a practice from the past, when less information about hygiene was available. Cloth diapers are changed more frequently than disposable ones. Leaving a baby in a single cloth diaper all day isn’t feasible, whereas with disposables it can happen. Cloth diapers actually encourage more frequent changes, meaning the baby is wearing a clean diaper more often, which is far more comfortable and hygienic than leaving one disposable diaper on all afternoon.
Myth number 7: They are outdated
“Why go back to something that has already been replaced by something else?”
Because cloth diapers have undergone significant improvements and innovations. They consider not only the baby’s comfort, but also that of moms and our planet. Plus, they come in amazing designs and styles.
All you have to do is choose.

Mýtus číslo 8: Sú drahé
“265 € for a full cloth diaper set? That’s a lot of money all at once.”
The initial investment may seem high, but over the entire diapering period, you really save a lot of money. Using cloth diapers instead of disposable ones can save you around 25,000 CZK and, most importantly, generates no solid waste. Take a look at our table below:
